Thai massage treatments
The practice
Thai massage (TM) is a profoundly restorative practice and can help you to drop into deep states of relaxation where the natural healing capacity of the body can awaken. It is holistic in nature and sees the totality of the being as an interconnected wholeness where no condition exists in isolation. It is a practice deeply rooted in the Buddhist tradition and is given with the intention to ease pain and to promote balance, inner awareness and peace.
What to expect
The practice is a meditative flow of acupressure work, stretches and rhythmical movements that are given with an intuitive and listening touch. The pressure can be strong and deep, but never painful. It is a floor based style, with no oil involved and is given fully clothed.

My approach
My style of Thai massage draws from both the static and dynamic styles, and also from the modern Osteo-Thai practice and qualities of Cranio-Sacral therapy. Above all, my practice is firmly grounded in the principles of offering a clear presence and a listening touch. These for me embody the spiritual basis and deep essence of the practice that transcends all labels, theories and techniques.

Who is the practice for?
Aside from some common sense exclusions and medical contraindications (which will be fully discussed prior to any treatment), Thai massage is for everyone. Personally I have worked with a wide range of people from the very young, to the dying, with a range of different conditions, and varying levels of fitness and health, including pregnant women.

How Thai massage can help
To receive Thai massage (TM) is to be invited into a space where profound states of relaxation and increased self awareness are possible. I feel this is the deepest offering of the practice. From this perspective there are few conditions that TM cannot be at least supportive of. More specifically I have experience working with:
General muscle tension & many kinds of chronic pain, joint stiffness, sciatica, sports recovery, insomnia, headaches & migraines, poor circulation and numbness, some digestive issues, menstrual pain & PMT/PMS, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis. TM can also be very supportive during pregnancy (after the first trimester).
The practice is also beneficial for general mental health by supporting the nervous system to shift from an overactive state to a "rest and digest" state of safe relaxation.
The way that these various conditions are worked with will be entirely dependant upon the clients needs and situation at the time, and being a holistic practice, TM does not just work with conditions in isolation, but always as part of the whole.

Some testimonials from recent sessions:
I recently had the honour of receiving an incredibly powerful massage from Justin. As a comedian and performer I tend to get massages a lot and it is a rare opportunity to find such an intuitive talent like his. The strength of his technique matched with his intuitive gentle energetic sense was truly astonishing. I haven't felt so much trust to fully surrender and receive a massage in years. The detail of his work led me into deep relaxation, where I could experience my energy centres release and open. I have heard people talk of transcendental massages and now I understand what they mean. It is no wonder that he came highly recommended 3 times over. I will certainly be booking in more massages in the future and could not recommend him highly enough.
